Comparative study of fuzzy logic, ripple correlation control and pilot cell methods for maximum power point tracking

Three methods used for tracking maximum power point, known as fuzzy logic, ripple correlation control and pilot cell, are compared to deduce the most efficient in terms of rapidity and power oscillations during extraction of maximum energy of an E20-327 Sunpower panel. Simulation has showed that fuzzy logic method is more advantageous compared with the two other techniques because of its rapidity and its low power oscillations. Simulation has illustrated that ripple correlation control is more efficient compared with pilot cell which fails to track the accurate MPP and presents low yield.
