Modelling of through-the-wall scenarios with the CWA

Electromagnetic modelling of through-the-wall radar scenarios allows a deeper understanding of the interaction with the source field and the hidden target. A semi-analytical technique is presented, based on the Cylindrical Wave Approach. The technique can model a two-dimensional layout with three background media, with a dielectric layer, between two half space filled with air. Targets are assumed to be cylinders with circular cross-section, perfectly conducting or dielectric. Numerical results, carried out for different physical and geometrical properties of the wall and the targets can improve the understanding of the interaction of radiation with the scenario, at different frequencies of the source field.
