The slotting optimization of tobacco automated stereoscopic warehouse based on fault tree and field test

Storage efficiency of the automated warehouse directly affects the overall efficiency of tobacco logistics, in order to reduce the idle rate, a slotting optimization method is proposed by the combination of fault tree analysis and field test in this paper. First, the Pareto diagram is used to analyze the warehouse slotting usage situation. Then, obtain the key factors of the idle goods allocation by using the fault tree analysis method. Finally, put forward improvement scheme according to the practical problems. The field test is used to verify the feasibility and effectiveness of the improvement scheme. The results of a case study of the automated warehouse from Chengdu Tobacco Company show that the method improves the slotting idle rate from 16.6% to 9.2% and the utilization of cargo space, increase economic efficiency and intangible benefits. It applies a feasible approach for slotting optimization of automated warehouse.
