Myril B. Reed Best Paper Award

The Myril B. Reed Best Paper Award is given each year for the best paper presented at the previous Midwest Symposium on Circuits and Systems. Myril B. Reed was instrumental in establishing MWSCAS and, along with Ray M. Wainwright, chaired the first two Midwest Symposiums, in 1955 (University of Illinois, Urbana) and 1956 (Michigan State University). The MWSCAS 2016 Myril B. Reed Best Paper Award is shared among three outstanding papers as a result of a three-way tie during the review process. The award will be presented to the authors listed below by 2016 MWSCAS General Chair Mohammed Ismail and 2017 MWSCAS Technical Program Co-Chair Valencia Koomson at the Awards Banquet on Tuesday August 8, 2017. The three winners are: "A Voltage-Scalable Zero-Delay-Overhead Scheme for Standby Power Reduction in Dynamic Register Files" by Khawar Sarfraz and Mansun Chan (The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Clear Water Bay, Kowloon, Hong Kong); "Electret-Free Electrostatic Energy Harvesting Interface Circuit Design and Analysis" by Lilas Al Rahis, Baker Mohammed, Hani Saleh and Mohammad Ismail (Khalifa University of Science, Technology, and Research (KUSTAR), Abu Dhabi, UAE); and "Linear Time-Variant System Identification Using FMCW Radar Systems" by Tim Poguntke (Robert Bosch GmbH, Germany) and Karlheinz Ochs (Ruhr-Universitaet at Bochum, Germany).
