Optimization method of multi-stages launch vehicle trajectory based on segmental Chebyshev pseudo spectral method

Trajectory optimization refers to the design of a trajectory in the case that the launch vehicle to meet a series of constraints, and a performance index to achieve the best. The pseudo spectrum method has been developed to directly solve the Bloza optimal control problem with state and control constraints. The focus of this paper is to solve the trajectory optimal control problem with the segmental Chebyshev pseudo-spectrum method (CPM) and the multi-stage launch vehicle model is the mainly researched object. Based on the segmental design, the segmental CPM and the sequential quadratic programming (SQP) method are used to calculate the optimal trajectory and finally find the optimal solution faster than some global methods. The attack angle design scheme and the initial value selection scheme are presented under the design of trajectory optimization. Simulation results show that segmental CPM can provide an efficient solution fast with similar accuracy.
