Delay effect on the high-frequency vibration system

Small input delay is always ignored for designing a simple controller in many practical applications. However, this paper will tell us that small input delay have a significant impact on high-frequency vibration system, the amplitude of the high-frequency vibration system will be greatly enlarged even if the input delay is small enough. For explaining such viewpoint, a vibration system with high natural frequency is investigated by using stability switch theory of characteristic roots. Moreover, increasing the input delay to a bit larger value may lead to a stable system. Simulation results show that such phenomenon is evident, and it is consistent with the theory analysis results.
