A CMOS fish resistance to period converter with calibration circuits for fish spoilage detecting applications

In this paper, a CMOS fish resistance to period converter with calibration circuits for fish spoilage detecting applications is newly proposed. Different to previous works, a calibration technique to overcome non-linear effect arising from analog processing circuits is proposed in this work. After calibration, the maximum linear error is decreased to 0.69%. The resistance ranges from 10 kΩ to 1 MΩ, and the corresponding output period range is 5.15 to 515.9 μs. The chip area is 1.25 × 1.24 mm
²
. The proposed chip is appropriate for Internet of Things (IoT) devices of detecting fish spoilage, such as remotely detecting fish spoilage in fish market.
