Analysis of appearance, variations and correlations of monthly mean wind speed data

Wind speed plays a vital role for wind energy calculation of a certain location. Appearances and variations of monthly wind speed data in the Republic of Macedonia were analyzed in this paper. Five measuring stations, placed across are the base source for the measured data. Primarily, the data are summarized and represented graphically by time series plots for seasonal analysis. We have compared wind speed by frequency distribution representation and Fourier transform. Also, the periodicity and correlation between stations of wind speed is checked using rank correlation tests and descriptive statistics. The results and discussion, indicate that there is mathematical dependence on wind regimes between the stations, i.e there is a correlation between wind regimes measured by the different stations. Thereafter a comparative study is done for detecting the periodicity of the wind speed for all seasons on the territory of the country.
