NEGF quantum transport for green MQW nitride LEDs

This work presents a non-equilibrium Green's function (NEGF) based simulation of blue and green single and multi-quantum well light emitting diodes (LEDs). The simulations provide insight into transport phenomena like tunnelling, hot carrier and back-scattering and the behavior of the density of states above the active region. It is shown that the electron density in the quantum wells is largely in equilibrium in contrast to the quantum well barrier.
