A Comparative Research on Online Interaction of Sino-British Learners

In this paper, data and publications of each of similar British and Chinese online course were collected and compared according to an online interaction quality evaluation tool, entitled, Community of Inquiry (CoI). The tool was developed by the Garrison team through the interaction among three core elements: cognitive presence, social presence of learners, and teaching presence of tutors. The results identified the shortcomings and disadvantages of Chinese online course interaction. Based on the findings, reasonable suggestions and recommendations were proposed after advanced online tutor experience of UK absorbed to enhance the quality of online interaction of distance education of China.
