Design of an EMC test board for analog-to-digital converters

This paper deals with a new test board to measure and compare the susceptibility of analog-to-digital converters (ADCs) to electromagnetic interference. First, a careful evaluation of the right test method is presented, which leads to the election of the methode of direct power injection (DPI). Secondly, an error-criteria is defined for single-device ADCs with a serial peripheral interface. Finally a way to automate these measurement is described to quickly compare the reliability of different ADCs regarding conducted interference.
