Synchronization and processing of inclinometry data using an accelerometer in the measuring complex

The article is devoted to carrying out the trials of joint registration of time-varying physical quantities unit and orientation measurement unit in space. The structure of a measuring complex is described and the features of its basic parts working synchronization are described. The principle of operation and the capabilities of a three-axis acceleration sensor are analyzed in detail. A mathematical description of the technique for interpreting the accelerometer data for determining the orientation in space is given. The accuracy of the results is estimated. Methods for eliminating gross errors are considered. The algorithm for sequential data smoothing in the process of testing is proposed and programmed. To work in the measuring complex, a three-axis acceleration sensor MMA7361L from Freescale Semiconductor was used. The principle of the signals formation for their transmission, storage and reproduction in single-channel communication is proposed. The peculiarities of creating the information exchange protocols directly from PC and serial EEPROM memory are investigated. The main causes of malfunctions are revealed. The developed flexible data management system was used for processing the data received from a static sounding installation. The main principle of developers was the search for simple solutions. Based on the research results, general approaches to the synchronization of data exchange during the connecting additional sensors and the need to accumulate statistics can be formulated. Laboratory and field tests of the created equipment allow us to estimate the operability and reliability of the proposed scheme. The method of signal acquisition and processing was used in static sounding equipment manufactured by PIKATECHNOSERVICE Scientific and Technical Center LLC.
