Acoustic emission characteristic of 42CrMo material in the process of tension

The steel of 42CrMo is regarded as a structural material in crankshaft, due to the significant advantages they offer, such as high strength, high toughness and good temper brittleness. So the investigation of tensile properties of 42CrMo is important to prevent failure. The acoustic emission (AE) technique was widely used in monitoring the process of failure and it has function of early warning. In this paper, the AE technique was used to monitor the process of tensile test and the characteristics of AE parameters and spectrum were extracted. Which have obvious significance to study the features of different stages of process of tensile.
