Outage analysis of cognitive two-way AF relaying systems with wireless power transfer

Cognitive radio is a promising technology which aims to achieve better spectrum utilization and energy harvesting is a promising solution to the extra energy requirements. In this paper, a new wireless energy harvesting protocol is proposed for an underlay cognitive radio (CR) network with multiple transceivers in a primary network (PN). Utilizing two-way amplify-and-forward (AF) relaying system as a secondary network (SN), relay can harvest energy from both end-sources. Closed-form expression for outage probability (OP) of this system by considering CR interference temperature over independent and non-identically distributed (i.n.i.d.) Nakagami-m fading channels is derived. To simplify our analysis, we further obtain the OP at high signal-to-noise-ratio (SNR) regime. The numerical results provide important physical insights into the implications of model parameters on the system performance; for instance, it is demonstrated that the wireless power transfer decreases the outage, significantly.
