New hybrid islanding detection in DC link for hybrid networks

This paper presents a hybrid method consisted of active and passive methods to detect islands in DC side of power system with DC parameter. In this method, regarding complexities of detecting islands in different systems, any island is recognized as fast as possible and without disturbing power quality. All of the previous methods were implemented in AC side of power system up to now. By development of DC sources and DC consumers, DC link protection was more considered. The proposed method is able to detect islands in each part of the system, either the AC side or the DC one. This method can recognize any island in the minimum time, with the highest certainty and without injecting any disturbance to the system. The Matlab/Simulink software is used to validate the proposed method efficiency.
