A class participation enrollment system based on face recognition

Class participation enrollment, an effective means of classroom management, can urge students to attend class on time and ensure the quality of teaching. Almost all schools are using a roll-call to check and record whether students are coming to class or not. The time required for this method depends on the number of students, which is a huge waste of time. In recent years, with the development of deep learning, face recognition has made great progress, which leads to a new way of thinking to solve the problem of class participation enrollment. This paper presents a new method that achieves automatic enrollment based on face recognition by developing an android application. And in order to adapt to the illumination of different classrooms, we proposed a new illumination preprocessing algorithm. The experimental results show that our system greatly improves the efficiency of enrollment. What's more, the system can install in the classroom easily.
