Preoperative planning tools for mandibular reconstruction

The aim of this work is to design and develop an application that will help doctors in preoperative planning for mandibular reconstruction. This work is based on processing of facial bones computerized tomography scan images getting a three-dimensional representation of the mandible. This Preoperative Planning Tools allow for doctors automatic mandibular reconstruction. The first step, consist on denoise and segment facial bone computerized tomography scan images. Then, a three-dimension mandibular extraction from these facial mass scanners cuts after treatment. Finally, a three-dimension surface mesh of mandible is generated in a stereo lithography file format which will be later printed by a three-dimensional printer.
