Interfacing of measuring devices in educational software system for remote access

The paper describes a new system for remote access to measurement workplaces. The system has a modular structure, when two modules called GO and DO module are matched for remote operation. The GO module distributes measured data over a network. The workplace is managed by DO module. The designer of a new workplace develops only the DO module. Our modular system simplifies and unifies the design of remote accessed workplaces with higher level of software security. Several educational applications are presented. Different interfaces are used for connection with measuring equipment, hence the system can be employed for demonstration of communication with measurement and laboratory devices to students. The corresponding set of cooperating PC applications is designed in LabVIEW environment.
