Design and optimization of mechanics for the two axes force / displacement E-M sensor

The paper deals with the design of the two axes force and displacement sensor based on electromagnetic (E-M) sensing principle. This principle enables to detect displacements, or, mutual positions off lexural bodies by sensing changes of E-M field created around the sensor. One functional part of such a sensor is the elastic mechanical body that deflects under acting of external forces. It is discussed the flexural body for the sensor that enables to detect two rectangular components of force or resulting displacement. It is proposed the compact elastic structure that consists of two parallelograms providing decoupled flexural motions of sensing elements in two rectangular directions. The design parameters are analyzed and optimized with respect to functional requirements. This mechanical structure is used for building the two axes experimental sensor and further laboratory tests for verification of the sensing principle together with the evaluation electronics.
