A study on stray loss analysis involving fuel tank and clip part in power transformer using FLUX 3D

A finite element model about SFL1-20000/35 type power transformer considering the power losses of fuel tank and clip was built utilizing FLUX 3D software from France in order to obtain the eddy current distribution in the fuel tank and clamp of transformer and estimate the related power losses. In this model, the hysteresis curve can be customized and other constraint conditions can be set. An agreement between the stray loss resulted from the proposed model and that calculated by the traditional engineering method may prove its effectiveness. Moreover, a comparison between the nonlinear surface impedance method and the linear surface impedance method for stray loss analysis has been made. It is verified that the result from the nonlinear surface impedance method is closer to the testing data. In other words, the linear surface impedance method has lower accuracy but higher efficiency for stray loss analysis.
