Effect of Conjugated Linoleic Acid on Metabolism and Lipogenic Gene Expression of Liver in Lactating Mice

To investigate the effects of conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) on the expression of lipogenic gene in the liver of lactating mice.Sixteen mice were randomly assigned to the control group (1.5% LA oil) or CLA groups (1.5% CLA oil) from day 4 to 14 postpartum.The parameters of plasma and liver was assessed. The insulin resistance of lactating mice was examined.The expression of lipogenic genes was analyzed in liver tissue between control and CLA group via Real-time PCR. The results indicated that the food intake of CLA group was significantly decreased compared with control group (P<;0.05).The weight and TG content of liver has no difference between control group and CLA group(P > 0.05). The CLA group has a significantly higher content of CHO,HDL,LDL (P<;0.05). A high lever of insulin in the blood was showed and there is a insulin resistance in the mice with CLA treatment.The expression of FASN,SREBP1-c and PPARα gene has no significant differences,but the expression of SCD gene was up-regulated in the liver of CLA group. Supplementing 1.5% CLA could increase the content of CHO,HDL,LDL and insulin in the serum and up-regulated the mRNA expression of SCD gene in liver of lactating mice.
