Optimization of start-up characteristics for asynchronous motors used in mining excavators

Advance in high-tech industries is due to evolution, respectively performance of electrical machines. Worldwide, designers are concerned to find answers to current questions such as: performance growth of asynchronous motors, reduce manufacturing and operating costs by adopting solution in line with global optimization approaches. Condition imposed to asynchronous motor design is limited startup current because it drives the bucket-holder wheel because if it drives a high capacity excavator, momentum of inertia is important, resulting in significant increased startup time. The results of simulations provide qualitative and quantitative information required for the completion of construction optimal solution, where we have minimum startup current criterion, and the restrictive conditions imposed by the customer. For designing and establishing the constructive solution there have taken into account the restrictive gauge conditions imposed by the space afferent to the motor. The starting current of the optimized asynchronous motor it is with 18.8% lower than the variant of existing motor of the excavator. The advantage of this optimal design is shorten the assimilation duration of the product, investments efficiency, and market gain sale by electrical engineering company.
