A Passing Vehicle Search algorithm for solution of Optimal Power flow problems

Optimal power flow is the highly constrained, nonlinear and non-convex optimization problem of power system. This present paper proposed metaheuristic Passing Vehicle Search algorithm for the solution of different Optimal Power flow problems. Proposed approach examined on IEEE 30 bus test system for different objective function like fuel cost, active and reactive power losses. The proposed PVS algorithm approach discovers the optimal setting of control variables for proposed objective function with satisfying their equality and inequality constraints. To check the quality and effectiveness of proposed approach its compared with some well-known metaheuristic optimization techniques which were reported in the literature.
