Laboratory organization according to ISO 17025 standard for periodical tests of Live Line Working equipment in Italy: Laboratories at the service of LLW and much more… Objectives, choices and evolutions of Terna Rete Italia S.p.A. laboratories

This paper will describe the laboratory organization that Terna Rete Italia S.p.A. had to adopt in order to perform periodical tests of the equipment used for Llive Line Works. Italian legislation provides that periodical tests shall be performed in laboratories accredited according to ISO/IEC 17025 Standard, therefore Terna Rete Italia organized a “Multi-site laboratory” so as to perform the tests on all the insulating equipment and conductive clothing, allocated on the territory, according to the related Technical Standards. This paper will describe the detailed stages that led to accreditation of the tests performed in the laboratories and the required activities for this acknowledgement retention.
