Financing source for women owned SMEs: An evidence from Nepal

This Research expands on the key links between Small and Medium Sized Enterprises (SMEs), jobs and SME access to investment/ finance these days. SMEs accounts for more than half of all jobs worldwide that is very important to alleviate poverty in least developing countries. We aim to examine the source of finance to women owned SMEs because women face unreasonably higher barriers to their male counterparts by several ways. The findings of this study show three main important facts. First, the inability to secure loans from official lenders likes commercial banks. Second, the representation of women entrepreneurs is still relatively low which can be credited to factor such as low levels of education and poor managerial skills. Third one is limited access to networking opportunities and information.
