Manufacturing industry performance based on lean production principles

Lean is an effective and tested method of reducing operating costs and removing waste from manufacturing operations. Lean principles are defined for the growth and survival of the industries related into production and also to the service sector. As needs are increasing, expectation of quality work is also increasing. Using lean production principles, employing Kaizen events and reducing unnecessary activities and variations via continuous policy updating keeps business competitive. To produce quality work, a process of the human and the working principles must be defined properly. Since India has tremendous business an opportunity, a global way of rethinking is needed to serve the nation and the world. Lean helps to identify non value added services and removes waste from the process. A continuous use of the proposed technology helps to grow the industry in terms of customer satisfaction and finance. In any manufacturing industry, waste can be easily identified and products and their processes can be made visible. Implementation of Lean production of initial stages is more complex but at later stage the results will be appreciated. It is a commit and period based method. Since the Indian Government is focusing on skill based processes, the scope and growth of the lean based industries is not limited. In this paper, we are discussing the lean concepts and results from the industries (visited by us) in India are already following the lean principles.
