New technique for absolute beam energy calibration in e/sup +/e/sup -/ accelerators

A new approach for absolute beam energy measurement with a use of the kinematic properties of the Compton backscattering is suggested. Under reasonable gamma-ray beam detector requirements, it possesses absolute accuracy for beam energy measurement up to the value of 10/sup -4/.
