A multilayer removable EBG based common mode filter for high speed buses

This paper presents an improvement and extension of the removable Electromagnetic Bandgap (EBG) based common mode filters for signal bus structures such as the PCI Express bus. A filter component for four input and four output is designed and numerically validated. The reliability of the design procedure and the effectiveness of the EBG common mode filter are shown by means of frequency and time domain results.
