Achievable Rate Analysis of Two-Way Full Duplex Relay with Joint Relay and Antenna Selection

In this paper, we analyze and optimize achievable rate for two-way full duplex (TWFD) relay system consisting of two FD source nodes and N FD amplify- and-forward (AF) relays. Each transceiver node is equipped with two antennas, one for receiving and the other for transmitting. And on the basis of conventional relay selection scheme, we propose a joint relay and transmit#x002F;receive (Tx#x002F;Rx) antenna selection scheme for TWFD multi-relay networks, where each node adaptively selects its Tx antenna and Rx antenna based on the instantaneous channel conditions, the optimal relay and the best Tx#x002F;Rx antenna conamp;#64257;guration is selected jointly in optimizing system achievable rate. Then, the approximate expression of the achievable rate for its upper bound is analytical derived in the proposed selection scheme when residual self- interference (RSI) introduced by FD mode is considered. Monte-Carlo simulations are fulamp;#64257;lled to verify the analytical expressions and make the comparison with relay selection and no selection situation. The result reveal that the joint relay and antenna scheme showed signiamp;#64257;cant performance improvement than conventional relay selection scheme.Furthermore, the transmit power, RSI and the number of relay also show important effect on the system performance of TWFD relay.
