Thrive-Code: An MDS coding scheme with better performance

This paper introduces a new family of Maximum Distance Separable (MDS) array codes of distance 4 called Thrive-Code, which is constructed by two horizontal and one vertical parities. The key novelties in Thrive-Code are: 1) the decoding complexity of Thrive-Code is approximately 50 percent lower than that of TIP code, while the encoding and update complexity is roughly the same as that of TIP. 2) The update complexity is 20 percent lower than that of TRIPLE-STAR, while the encoding and decoding complexity is nearly identical to that of TRIPLE-STAR which has the lowest decoding complexity.
