Validation metrics analysis of community detection algorithms

Different validation metrics for community structure in networks are compared and evaluated in this paper. We found that maximum modularity do not necessarily correspond to true community structure of the network, and demonstrated that a combination of various metrics should be used to provide more robust validation of a network partition. When choosing a community detect algorithm, we suggest that a compromise must be reached between accuracy and running time.
