Analysis and research of GNSS near ground signal based on the dilution of precision

The GNSS signal which is reflected by the surface of the object carries the physical characteristic information of reflecting surface. GNSS-R is a new kind of remote sensing method to study near ground reflected signal and scattering signal. The dilution of precision, as one of the important means to evaluate the performance of satellite navigation and positioning, can be used to retrieve all kinds of physical characteristic information. This paper presents our investigation of the characteristics of the GNSS reflected signal. Through the experiments under the tree, near the river and on the playground, the dilution of precision of the direct and reflected signals were analyzed and compared. It is found that the dilution of precision of the reflected signal is better than the direct signal under the condition of a sheltered environment, and the more rough the reflection surface, the higher the dilution of precision. Therefore, this provides a reference for GNSS-R inverse physical characteristic information.
