The design of a new H plane corrugated horn antenna in THz Frequency

Because of the high frequency of THz wave band, the design of the related devices is more complicated. In this paper, by loading corrugated slot into dielectric substrate on the two sides of horn aperture plane, gain of H plane corrugated horn antenna which is designed is effectively improved. The whole structure of the antenna which is designed is simpler, so it is beneficial to further reduce the difficulty of process. Design and analyze of the antenna use simulation software High Frequency Structure Simulator (HFSS) which is based on finite element method in the paper. THz corrugated horn antenna's operating frequency is 191GHz, and it has a good directivity of the free space radiation. Back lobe which is produced by the antenna's radiation is effectively controlled, and the antenna's axially maximum gain is 9.8dB.
