Logic Representation: Aristotelian Syllogism by Diagram

Aristotelian syllogisms are still an object of educational interest, e.g., included in standardized tests for higher education in the United States of America (USA). Venn diagrams and Euler's circles are usually used for solving syllogisms and for reasoning. However, these diagrams require a considerable number of textual and symbolic descriptions to accomplish this. This paper aims to develop an alternative tool for teaching syllogisms to students using a newly developed diagrammatic language. The results point to a viable method with a possible broader use for illustrative and educational purposes in logic.
