Food detection on plate based on the HSV color model

The proposed method developed is used for identifying the food objects on the plate. HSV color model is very efficient of identifying the objects based on its hue value. HSV based color model is used to identify plate from background and food objects on the plate. In proposed method user selects plate and all food items on it. Than the identification process identifies the selected food items on the plate. Identification of food object is done by hue of individual food item. It passes the food plate sample if all previously selected food items are detected on the plate. It rejects the plate food sample if any one of the food item is absent on the plate. This technique is useful in food processing industry for automatic identification of all food ingredients items. The technique is also useful retail food business or restaurants to serve proper dishes to the customer.
