Determination of global maxima of electro-, piezo- and acousto-optic effects in langasite crystals

The global maxima of the electro-, piezo- and acousto-optic effects are determined for langasite crystals by extreme surfaces method. The objective functions of the optimization are the normalized optical path changes/differences for the cases of electro- or piezo-optic effects and the acousto-optic figure-of-merit M2 for the case of acousto-optic effect. The optimal orientations of the control factors and the light wave vectors are defined.
