TF/SF separation characteristics in the 3D NS-FDTD technique using rectangular cells

The separation ability of the total-field/scattered-field (TF/SF) model, tailored for the 3D non-standard finite-difference time-domain (NS-FDTD) technique via rectangular cells, is presented in this paper. Applying the method to the radar cross section (RCS) analysis of electrically large regions, the new TF/SF model exhibits almost the same separation performance compared to the cubic cell case. Finally, the proposed scheme is applied to a complicated realistic structure to reveal its merits.
