Effect of synthesis loss on transmission efficiency between array antennas in the near field

In this paper, we evaluated effect of losses on transmission efficiency between array antennas in the near field by estimating four types of losses: the antenna loss, the reflection loss, the beam formation loss and the synthesis loss. In particular, we focused on the synthesis loss at the T-junction power divider by the difference of amplitude and phase among input signals when we used an array antenna as the receiving antenna. We designed array antennas and calculated the transmission efficiency between the transmitting antenna and the receiving antenna in the near field. Finally, we evaluated the effect of their losses and calculated the efficiency including them.
