Gyansetu — Build with a human touch

Various Community Service Centers (CSC) are deployed in villages by the Government of India (GoI) as part of digital India programme to bring the various e-Governance services to the rural mass. The existing systems in such CSCs are rarely used because of its unfriendly graphical interfaces and traditional hardware peripherals. There is a need to find a solution which attracts such users towards usage of e-Governance services. Gyansetu (meaning Knowledge Bridge in Hindi language) is a specialized platform designed with a human touch to overcome the above challenges. The various hardware interfaces provided within the Gyansetu are rural mass friendly and provisioned for differently abled as well. The GUI interacts with the user mostly through image driven buttons, with the added feature of audio announcement and multi-lingual texts. Gyansetu has an added advantage of usability for linguistically challenged and digitally untrained users.
