Robust dc-link voltage control method using virtual resistor for high voltage battery charger

A robust dc-link voltage control using virtual resistor will be presented in this paper. Virtual resistor will be used to generate correction factor for power balance control method in dc-link voltage control. With this control method, dc-link voltage can be maintained in stable condition and operated on desired safe voltage range. The proposed control method is using simple mathematics equation to reduce complexity of its control algorithm. As the dc-link voltage is not necessarily constant, as long as operated in defined voltage range and in stable state, capacitance value of dc-link capacitor can be reduced, hence film capacitor can be used for this application. To verify the proposed control method, simulation results are included.
