An enhanced security authentication mechanism in the environment partially distributed mobility management

With the spread of smart devices including smartphones and tablet PCs and the sharp rise in contents, the demands of mobile data have been on the rapid increase. As IP mobility management technology to process mobile traffic efficiently, MIPv6 and PMIPv6 were proposed. However, MIPv6 and PMIPv6 cause LMA bottleneck and have the problem of SPOF. The technology of DMM, the distributed management technology of separating location information from data traffic to solve the problems, draws a lot of attention. Therefore, this study proposes an enhanced security authentication method in the PMIPv6 based distributed mobility management environment. According to performance analysis, although the proposed method costs similar to other relevant PMIPv6 methods, it solved the problem of security through its enhancement of security.
