Domain decomposition method: a direct solution of Maxwell equations

An efficient and rigorous algorithm, based on the domain decomposition method (DDM), is presented for full-wave analysis of arbitrary three-dimensional (3-D) structures. Compared with other methods, it can greatly reduce the computing complexity and the memory storage requirement. The iterative implementation of the method is discussed and the scattering parameters of a 3-D structure are analyzed as an example of its application. The numerical results agree very well with that obtained by the finite difference in frequency domain (FDFD) method. With this algorithm, many fast and rigorous algorithms can be developed.
