Effective compressed image transmission through context aware wireless networks

The main aim of image compression is to transmit the images to distinct regions with reduced image quality degradation over a network environment. In this research, even though highly efficient image compression schemes are presented with high feasibility and low cost, the basic motive cannot be overwhelmed. Hence, the strong reason for image compression is the transmission of images without or with acceptable quality degradation. The images are effectively encoded and compressed using MHPCA, MHPBLI and CDAQ schemes. Then the images are effectively transmitted to the destination. In order to provide effective transmission, in this work, the compression schemes are selected adaptively based on the different wireless networks employed. The wireless networks namely UMTS, IEEE 802.11e and WiMAX are used for transmission. The adaptive compression indicates the efficiency of the platform in the context of both the data compression with an acceptable quality degradation and proper data transmission over the wireless network. The experimental result shows that the WiMAX network gives better performance than the other two networks considered.
