Misjudgement analytical method based on decision parameter volatility for network selections

As a significant step for vertical handover, optimal decision for network selection has been attracting high and sustaining attention over the past decade, especially on the topic of meeting user's rapidly increased requirements. However, the instability of the basic decisive parameters is ignored in most of the investigations, which might finally lead to a high misjudgement ratio. Therefore, great effort was made to dissect the relationship between misjudgement ratio and the volatility of parameters in this paper. Herein, quantitative analytical for single-parameter network selections and multi-parameter network selections based on linear algorithms was achieved and testified, and qualitative analytical for non-linear multiparameters algorithms was exemplified as well. The simulation results show that the proposed analytical method could depict the trends of misjudgement ratio. Especially, in the case of great amount attributes or obvious differences among the subnets, it exhibits excellent accuracy in the estimation of misjudgement ratio.
