Tunable V-cavity laser based transmitter optical sub-assembly with a wavelength locker

A wavelength locker is designed and fabricated for a V-cavity laser (VCL) based transmitter optical sub-assembly (TOSA). The tunable VCL and the wavelength locker are packaged together into a small-form-factor 20-pin TOSA box, which is only about 4.4 × 9.5mm², and an electronic driver is developed for wavelength tuning and locker control. The frequency of the laser is stabilized within ±0.1GHz, and the response time of the locker control is about 4s.
