Design and image simulation of submillimeter wave imaging optical system

A submillimeter wave imaging system working in 340 GHZ, which is composed of a diffractive-refractive lens and micro-lens array, is proposed and analyzed by using optical simulator ZEMAX and hybrid numerical method. To reduce the number of micro-lens element in focal plane and maintain enough image equality, the imaging simulation is studied. The ZEMAX is used to simulate the image. The images, which show a person at a distance of 2m, produced by the system are given. Some image reconstruction algorithms are applied to improve imaging performance. Finally, the numbers of the micro-lens can be reduced to 35*71.
