Design and implementation of PLC based reclosing device on synchronization line of small hydropower stations

The traditional auto-reclosing method in relaying cannot meet the requirements of the distribution network with small hydropower in case of faults. In order to provide reliable guarantee for safe operation of transmission line, on the basis of the improvement measures by the reclosing device in the practical engineering, a reclosing device adapted to synchronization line of small hydropower station is designed and implemented in this paper. SIEMENS PLC-1200 is used and the human-computer interface is realized by WinCC monitoring configuration software. Field application result indicates that the device improves the success rate of reclosing and promotes reliability and stability of power supply in small-hydroelectric area.
