Design of Architecture and Signal for Collaboration in Fixed & Mobile Convergence Network

The current convergence network is composed of various layered and separated network architectures for fixed network, WiFi network, and mobile network for each generation of mobile technology. The network management costs network service providers an arm and a leg because of network complexity, and whenever some network service providers want to deploy for new generation of access technology, they should install core network equipment to support new mobile technology. Assuming UE (User Equipment) communicates with other UE in neighboring heterogeneous network environment, for example, one UE is using LTE, the other UE is using 3G, but they are located nearby. Exchanging data between UEs should be transferred across access and core network of each mobile network technology into the IX (Internet eXchange) although their physical distance is within a short haul. Network operation method like this is not efficient to communicate and raises a problem about transmission delay and loss according to the increase of hop count and distance of data transmission. This paper suggests the architecture and signal for collaboration in convergence network to optimize inefficient data transfer route using by aggregation core network and to optimize the common signal using by a signal mediator.
