1.4 Quantum computing - the next challenge in circuit and system design

This paper will introduce the basic concepts behind quantum computing, summarize the state-of-the-art of solid-state implementations, and present the major open challenges in the realization of large-scale quantum circuits, including the design of dedicated classical control circuits and systems.
