Research on harmonic analysis of low voltage distribution networks and its monitoring system

Due to the wide use of nonlinear electrical equipment by the low-voltage users, there are a lot of harmonic distortions in the distribution network hence bringing about a tremendous reduction in the quality of electric power. This in turn tends to endanger the smooth operation of electrical equipment in the system. This paper introduces and discusses the causes as well as effects of harmonic generation in low voltage distribution networks. The research algorithm is lucidly outlined based on improved Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) harmonic measurement theory. The design of the Electrical network harmonic monitoring system studied is based on the Digital Signal Processor (DSP), which is of profound significance to the management of power network harmonics.
